European giants Bayern Munich’s chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed the club’s interest in Schalke full-back Rafinha, but insists it is not a done deal.
Rafinha has been linked with a switch to the Allianz Arena as Bayern weigh up another foray into the transfer market before the deadline.
Rummenigge has confirmed the Brazilian is an option for coach Louis van Gaal, but admits reports that a move has already been agreed are premature.
“It is not as concrete a deal as has been reported, some people have rushed ahead with this a little too much,” said Rummenigge.
“Things have not been decided, but we are interested.”
Bayern added Arjen Robben to their squad earlier in the week and saw the Dutch winger make an immediate impact with two goals on his debut against champions Wolfsburg.
And while Robben may not be the last arrival in Munich, Bayern boss Van Gaal confirmed he is not looking to sign a goalkeeper to replace either Hans-Jorg Butt or Michael Rensing.
Van Gaal said: “We will not be buying a goalkeeper.”
