Eintracht Frankfurt have moved to confirm reports suggesting that star player Sebastian Rode will join Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old has a contract until June 2014 in Frankfurt, but he has already agreed to sign for the Bavarians in the summer transfer window.
Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director confirmed the news in an interview with Sky Sport HD on Thursday.
Sebastian Rode is regarded as one of the most talented holding midfielders in German Bundesliga, and he has made a total of 91 league appearances for the club since joining from Kickers Offenbach.
He will, however, find it hard to earn much needed playing time at Alianz Arena with Javi Martinez, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Toni Kroos and Thiago Alcantara all in front of him in the pecking order.
Rode has become club’s second signing for the 2014/2015 season, with Robert Lewandowski also signing a pre-contract with the Bavarians.
