Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are hot on the trail of Benfica full-back Nelson Semedo, Record can reveal.
The talented defender has quickly become one of Europe’s hottest commodities and has so far been linked with quite a few top sides.
However, it appears that Bayern Munich could be the first to make a concrete move as they search for long-term successor to Philipp Lahm.
The Bavarians chief scout Michael Reschke recently visited Estadio da Luz to make another check on his target and at the same time informed the club chiefs of Bayern’s interest.
With a €60 million release clause inserted in the youngster’s contract, it is clear that Benfica will not allow him to leave on the cheap, especially considering the heavy interest in his services.
Despite his fragile age, the 22-year-old has been one of club’s most consistent performers this season, making no fewer than 15 appearances in all competitions.
