German champions Bayern Munich plan to lower the asking price for Borussia Dortmund hotshot Mats Hummels by sending Sebastian Rode in the opposite direction, Bild has learned.
It is now clear that the Germany international will be joining the Bavarians in the summer transfer window, but the bitter rivals have yet to agree a deal.
Bild understands that Borussia are holding out for €36 million despite the fact that Hummels has just another year left on his contract.
And with Bayern not really prepared to match said price, they have offered the Millionaires a chance to sign Sebastian Rode as part of the transfer.
However, it is believed that Dortmund want the money to be paid in full, having previous rejected a swap deal for Mario Gotze.
The Millionaires were given a lifeline in the Bundesliga title chase as Bayern failed to beat Borussia M’gladbach at the weekend, but they are priced at 200/1 to lift the league trophy.
