German daily newspaper Bild has learned that Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are in the process of drafting a new contract offer for star player Thomas Muller.
Even with the arrival of numerous high-quality footballers, the 26-year-old has remained an integral member of Pep Guardiola’s side, with Manchester United also having a number of bids rejected in the process.
And despite the fact that Muller appears perfectly happy to remain at Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich chiefs are so determined to keep hold of their prized possession that they will now make him the highest-paid player in the club.
The forward is currently earning around €8 million per campaign and has another four years left on his deal, but he looks set for a major pay rise.
Thomas Muller had scored exactly 13 goals in each of the previous three Bundesliga campaigns, but he already has 11 goals in 12 games this season.
