Bayern to swoop for Italy defender

Bayern are lining up a move for Genoa defender Domenico Criscito as the Bavarians look to reinforce their left-back position.

The Italy international is seen as a perfect addition to Bayern’s back line, especially seeing that he would be able to play in the Champions League.

Former Bayern forward and now Criscito’s teammate at Genoa, Luca Toni believes the former Juve defender is good enough for Bayern.

“Domenico is a really good player. Of course, even for Bayern,” Toni said.

Getting Criscito will not be an easy job with his contract at Genoa running until 2014, even more so after the asking price was set to €18 million.

Nonetheless, the asking price was only set to ward off interest from Milan and Inter, and Bayern believe they’ll be able to get their man for lot less.
