Bayern want Guardiola to replace Heynckes

German newspaper Bild reports that Bayern Munich plan to launch an assault on Josep Guardiola.

The Spaniard is a free agent after leaving Barcelona at the end of the season and he hinted earlier this month that he would be ready to return to coaching should the right offer come along.

According to Bild, Bayern Munich want the talented tactician to replace their current boss Jupp Heynckes.

The German coach arrived to Alianz Arena last summer, but has had a disappointing start to his career with the Bavarians, having failed to win a single trophy in his first season.

As a result, the German giants are looking for a new boss and they are ready to try their luck with Pep Guardiola.

Bayern sporting director Chrristian Nerlinger has already met with Guardiola’s brother and agent Pere and the Bavarians are now expected to step up their efforts to sign the 41-year-old.
