The whole of Europe is talking about him these days and for a good reason. Alphonso Davies was absolutely sensational in Bayern Munich’s 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea, where he played almost a perfect game, including an assist for Robert Lewandowski’s goal.
Now it looks like Bayern Munich want to extend Davies’ current contract at Allianz Arena, according to Sport 1. The report suggests that the 19-year-old’s existing deal expires in 2013, but the Bundesliga champions are hoping they will be able to tie the Canadian down for another two years beyond that. All of this comes after his great performances at left-back, playing over 20 consecutive matches in the starting lineup.
Davies was originally signed as a left winger when he arrived from Vancouver Whitecaps. That was the record-breaking transfer for Major League Soccer, with Bayern possibly paying close to 20 million dollars, with add-ons included. Now his performances could earn him a better contract.
