(GSM) – Bayern München has stated their intentions of retaining the services of star pair Philipp Lahm and Bastian Schweinsteiger by labeling them as ‘not for sale’.
Captain Lahm and vice-captain Schweinsteiger have reportedly been linked with moves away from the Allianz Arena following a number of eye-catching performances.
Premier League champions Chelsea are reportedly preparing a big-money offer for Schweinsteiger, as they see the 25-year-old as an ideal replacement for the outgoing Michael Ballack.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old Lahm has been the subject of constant transfer speculation in recent years.
Both impressed in Germany’s opening game in this summer’s World Cup, which ended in a 4-0 win over Australia, but Bayern say they are going nowhere.
Director sport Christian Nerlinger told Kicker: “Lahm and Schweinsteiger are our crown jewels. They are not for sale.”
