(GSM) – Bayern München’s star winger Arjen Robben could miss the Champions League quarter-final against Manchester United because of injury.
Robben hurt his calf in Bayern’s 2-1 defeat by VfB Stuttgart on Saturday, three days ahead of the first-leg tie against United in Munich.
And Bayern coach Loius van Gaal feels that Robben will not be able to play against United.
“Maybe it will turn out not to be that bad but it looks difficult for the United match,” said Van Gaal.
Robben, who pulled up late in the game after coming on as a second-half substitute, has been a key figure for Bayern since joining the club from Real Madrid in the summer.
In midweek he scored an extra-time winner against Schalke 04 to send Bayern through to the German Cup final.
Bayern, who have a busy schedule in the coming two weeks, play the quarter-final second leg at Old Trafford is on Wednesday 7 April.
