Bayern Munich’s sporting director Matthias Sammer says the club are keen to extend the contracts of Toni Kroos and David Alaba.
The pair have played important roles as Bayern won the Bundesliga title and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League so far this season and Sammer has indicated discussions over new deals will begin at the end of the campaign.
He told Kicker magazine: “This season there will be no negotiations. But the contracts of players expire in 2015, so we have to go into talks early. After the season, it should be ‘quickly go’ in order to renew the contracts.”
Both players have reportedly attracted attention from across Europe, but Sammer believes the duo are important to the future of Bayern, who will prioritise retaining their services.
“Bayern must hold on to such players,” he said.
“Toni is an outstanding football player and a very important player for Bayern.”
