Everton manager David Moyes hopes the club’s fans will give new signing Jo time to bed in at Goodison Park. “He comes into contention because of our situation with numbers, we’re a little bit short,” said the Everton boss.

The Brazil international moved to Merseyside on loan after having scored only three goals in 18 apperarances for Manchester City. “I’ve looked and I think he’s lacking a bit of confidence. He’s not as match-fit as we’d like, but I expected that. But he have a good group and they’ll try to help him regain his form and in turn help us by scoring some goals.”
