Beauty is only skin deep for the tractor boys of Ipswich Town

The Tractor boys of Ipswich Town are certainly putting themselves at the forefront of technology and fashion as they have signed up one of Australia’s leading sports brands in their push for promotion.

The club has done a deal with ‘Skins’, a manufacturer of high-tech sports compression clothing and the market leader in sports-mad Australia.

The deal was brokered by Blues fan and Skins’ General Manager, David Ling – an ex-Suffolk County cricketer and the ex-captain of Ipswich Rugby Club from the early 70s.

Skins products have been designed to compress muscle groups to trigger an acceleration in blood flow, which means the Tractor Boys will be getting increased oxygen to their working muscles – resulting in an enhanced performance on match days.

Skins clothing is endorsed by the Australian Physiotherapy Association and is unique in the market because its products are body mapped to compress certain muscles with varying degrees of pressure. That’s unlike many other products which simply squeeze indiscriminately.

Simon Thadani, the club’s fitness and conditioning coach, said:

“Skins are one of the best kept secrets in sports – they’re great pieces of kit and we’re looking forward to seeing their impact on the team’s performance, fitness and recovery as we seek to move up the table.”

As you can see from the picture, the clothing leaves little to the imagination! I somehow don’t think that my 38 inch waist would look too appealing in one of these outfits! I don’t know though…

Any Blues fans wanting to get their hands on a pair of Skins for themselves should go to www.skins.net.
