(GSM) – David Beckham has revealed that he had to change his boots during Milan’s 3-1 victory over Atalanta.
The English midfielder appeared to struggle early in the match. He then walked over to the sidelines and changed into a more comfortable pair.
“I had some problems in the first 20 minutes then I changed my boots and it went better,” Beckham explained.
“We faced the game well and got the three points. It’s important because we have to try and put pressure on Inter.
“The match against Roma next weekend is difficult, but if we want to be at the top we have to show that we know how to beat strong teams.”
Beckham will return to England today where he will train with the national team to prepare for Wednesday’s friendly with Egypt.
He will of course be back again the following week when Milan travel to Old Trafford to face his former club Manchester United.
“It will be emotional. I have many friends in Manchester. I am a fan of United and I would never like to see them lose, but this time logically it’s different. And I hope that we will manage to go through.
“It’s difficult but not impossible,” he concluded.
