(GSM) – David Beckham has written a heartfelt letter to his Milan teammates wishing them luck in the title race.
Beckham suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon injury in Milan’s 1-0 win over Chievo at the San Siro last Sunday and will be out for the rest of the season, bringing his second loan spell at the club to a premature end.
Beckham’s surgeon confirmed that he will miss the World Cup this summer after the succesful operation in Finland, earlier this week.
Milan boss Leonardo received a message from the 34-year-old midfielder this morning and he chose to read it out at training today.
“To the Coach and to all my friends, I want to wish you good luck for the rest of the season and I hope you bring home the title.
“I would also like to thank all of you for the support and the affection that you all showed after the game against Chievo.
“You really moved me and I know that I have true friends at the club.
“I hope to play with you again and be a part of this wonderful team. Once again thanks for your affection and good luck.
“Ciao, David.”
