According to the Daily Star, David Beckham is keen for Inter Miami to sign David De Gea, who has been a free agent since his contract with Manchester United expired at the end of June, ending his 13-year-spell at Old Trafford.
Beckham and De Gea are, of course, connected through their respective exploits with the 20-time English champions, and signing such a high-profile of goalkeeper on a free transfer, even at the age of 33, would represent a fantastic deal for the MLS side. De Gea would thus join former Spain teammates, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, as well as their former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi, in Florida.
De Gea has been linked with a number of clubs across Europe over the last five months, but he obviously hasn’t struck an agreement with any of them so far. There was even talk of him returning to United recently. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the man who stood between the posts for United on 545 occasions in all competitions, keeping 190 clean sheets.
