WARSHAW – Leo Beenhakker will be staying with the Polish national team for at least another two years, despite disappointing results at the recent European Championships.
Poland finished last in Group B, having earned only one point in three matches. Only hosts Austria were held to a draw.
But Beenhakker, who earlier coached the Netherlands and Trinidad and Tobago at World Cup’s, does not consider these results a reason to leave.
“I’m not someone to run away when there is fire. My report was accepted, and the meeting was good. We also talked about the World Cup qualifying campaign,” Beenhakker told press after a meeting with the Polish FA.
