Ukrainian Dimitri Chygrynskiy is Barcelona`s long awaited new defender.
Director of football Txiki Begiristain told that to the Spanish media before leaving to Monaco. There Barcelona will play for the European Super Cup against Chrygrynskiy’s current club; Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 22-year-old centre back will sign a five-year contract at the Camp Nou stadium and is Barca manager Josep Guardiola`s long desired defensive reinforcement.
Considering the injuries of defenders Rafael Marquez and Gabriel Milito, Chygrynskiy`s transfer was more than necessary.
The Ukrainian international mentioned earlier this summer that he considered himself to young for a transfer to Barcelona but Guardiola had different thoughts, with the signing of the strong defender as a definitive result.
