Anderlecht bounced back from their shock opening day defeat in the Belgian First Division with a 3-1 win over Mechelen on Friday.
After a surprise loss to the promoted OH Leuven on Saturday, Ariel Jacobs’ team recorded their first win of the season as two second-half goals helped them to victory in front of their home fans.
They started brightly and took a 27th-minute lead as American midfielder Sacha Kljestan converted from the penalty spot after Brazilian Fernando Canesin was brought down.
But the visitors were back on level terms six minutes into the second half thanks to midfielder David Destorme.
Parity only lasted seven minutes before Argentine forward Matias Suarez put Anderlecht back ahead.
Teenage striker Romelu Lukaku, linked to English Premier League side Chelsea this transfer window, sealed the points on 78 minutes.
Anderlecht move into third courtesy of the win while Mechelen are sixth, with both having played an extra game this term.
