Standard Liege are three points off the lead in the Belgian First Division Playoff I after drawing 1-1 with Club Brugge on Monday.

Hosts Brugge took the lead through centre-back Jeroen Simaeys in the 69th minute at the Jan Breydelstadion.

But Cameroonian striker Aloys Nong levelled for the visitors just two minutes later and neither side was able to find a winner in the closing exchanges.

The draw leaves Liege third in the group, two points behind second-placed Anderlecht and three back from leaders Genk.

Club Brugge are five points behind Liege in fourth place.
