Genk missed a chance to go within a point of Anderlecht at the top of the Belgian First Division after their match was postponed on Monday.

Genk’s encounter against Sint-Truiden at the Cristal Arena was called off as inclement weather continues to interrupt a busy festive period of football across parts of Europe.

Four Belgian First Division matches were postponed on Sunday, with just three going ahead as Anderlecht moved four points clear atop the league courtesy of their 6-0 thumping of Lierse.

Sint-Truiden may be the happier of the two sides, with Genk losing just one of their last seven league games and in impressive form.

A new date for the fixture has yet to be announced.
