KAA Gent moved into outright third on the Belgian First Division standings with a 2-1 away win over league leaders Racing Genk on Friday.
The hosts took the lead after just two minutes thanks to a goal from German defender Torben Joneleit, but they relinquished it seven minutes later after an own goal from Joao Carlos.
Gent took a 2-1 lead on the half-hour mark after a goal to Israeli striker Shlomi Arbeitman and despite the best efforts of the hosts to find an equaliser, that was where it stayed.
Racing remain two points clear of second-placed Anderlecht in the league standings, although Anderlecht have a game in hand.
Gent moved three points ahead of fourth-placed KSC Lokeren and are just two points adrift of Anderlecht.
