Anderlecht have squandered the chance to take top spot in the Belgian First Division after notching a scoreless draw against Club Brugge.

The reigning champions, who have won only two of their past five encounters, now sit in third place after Sunday’s 0-0 result, which would grant them a Europa League ticket should they remain there until the season’s end.

Elsewhere, Genk displaced Standard Liege at the championship playoff’s summit after they defeated bottom-side Lokeren 2-0.

Defender Eric Matoukou opened the scoring for the visitors before they doubled their lead to seal the points on the brink of full-time via Belgium forward Marvin Ogunjimi’s late goal.
