Racing Genk snapped a run of four draws in all competitions with a 3-2 victory over Kortrijk in the Belgium First Division on Saturday.
The second-placed side was forced to come from behind on two occasions to secure victory, with Kortrijk scoring the first of the day on 10 minutes when Genk defender Calvin Ngongca put the ball through his own net.
Kevin De Bruyne equalized five minutes later. But Kortrijk found themselves back in front 26 minutes later courtesy of Guiseppe Rossini’s seventh goal of the season, and the visitors at Cristal Arena maintained their surprise lead at the break.
It took just four second-half minutes for Genk to restore parity when Belgium striker Marvin Ogunjimi netted, before Hungarian midfielder Daniel Tozser found a winner in the 71st minute to move Genk within six points of league-leaders Anderlecht with a game in hand.
Meanwhile, Gary Kagelmacher scored twice from the penalty spot to add to Adnan Custovic’s opener in Germinal Beerschot’s 3-0 triumph over Zulte-Waregem.
Ukrainian striker Oleksandr Iakovenko scored his first goal since September for Westerlo in their 3-0 win against Sint-Truiden, with Steven De Petter and Paulo Henrique adding goals in the final 20 minutes.
Frederik Boi, William Acheampong and Renato Neto were all on target for Cercle Brugge in their 3-0 victory over Lierse.
Cellar-dwellers Charleroi held eighth-placed Mechelen to a 0-0 draw.
