Racing Genk beat nine-man Club Brugge 1-0 on Sunday to keep pace with Belgian First Division leaders Anderlecht.

Brugge had defensive midfielder Vadis Odjija Ofoe sent off in the 53rd minute at the Stade Fenix and they were behind six minutes later when forward Marvin Ogunjimi found the net for Genk.

The 10-man visitors kept the margin to a single goal, but they were unable to find an equaliser and finished the match with just nine players after Croatian Ivan Perisic also saw red shortly before the final whistle.

The win means Genk stay three points behind Anderlecht, but they have played one more match than the league leaders.

Club Brugge remain fourth, but are now only three points ahead of Standard Liege.

Liege, who have a game in hand over Brugge, overcame Eupen 1-0 away from home.

Bosnian defender Ervin Zukanovic gave the visitors the lead with an own goal in the 11th minute at the Kehrweg Stadion.

The hosts were unable to find an equaliser and defeat leaves them just three points clear of the relegation zone.

They have played one game more than second-bottom Lierse.

Germinal Beerschot snatched a point with a last-minute equaliser at home to Lokeren.

The visitors took the lead through Swiss defender Mijat Maric’s 57th-minute strike at the Olympisch Stadion and they looked on course to secure the win before Brazilian Junior Negrao levelled with a minute remaining.

The draw takes Germinal above Eupen and into 13th place, while Lokeren are sixth.
