Standard Liege recorded a 3-1 win over Lokeren, while Club Brugge hold top spot despite a draw in the Belgian First Division on Sunday.
A brace from Senegalese striker Mbaye Leye helped Jose Riga’s men to a 3-0 lead after 63 minutes, before Mijat Maric struck a consolation penalty for Lokeren.
Leye’s double sends Liege into second on four points, while Lokeren are second from bottom.
Meanwhile, Club Brugge gave up a three-goal half-time lead in a 3-3 draw at Sint-Truiden.
Israeli midfielder Lior Refaelov had scored twice and set up winger Maxime Lestienne as the 13-time league champions looked headed for a comprehensive win.
But two goals in as many minutes through Reza Ghoochannejhad and Nils Schouterden put the hosts within striking distance, before Gregory Dufer clinched a dramatic late point with his goal after team-mate Dimitri Daeseleire was sent off.
In the day’s other game, Westerlo remain bottom after playing out a 0-0 draw at home to Kortrijk, who had Ervin Zukanovic and Mustapha Oussalah dismissed.
