(GSM) – Simon Mignolet’s agent has revealed that Sunderland are interested in the Belgian goalkeeper.
The goalie currently plays for Sint Truiden in Belgium – Pro League and has also been linked with a summer switch to PSV Eindhoven.
“Simon has made a choice that he wants to sign for Sunderland and it is now up to the clubs to find an agreement as quickly as possible,” Mignolet’s agent Nico Vaesen told The Journal.
“He did have options but he has decided to go to Sunderland. It is still to be finalised but I think it is close now – the clubs are not far apart on a fee.
“I think we’re 99 per cent agreed on everything and there are no problems,” he revealed.
Scottish international Craig Gordon will be first choice keeper next season but back-up keeper Marton Fulop could leave the club during the summer transfer window.
