Belgian wonderkid wants PSV exit

Daily Mail has suggested that PSV Eindhoven starlet Zakaria Bakkali plans to leave the club in the January transfer window.

Widely regarded as one of Europe’s hottest prospects, the 18-year-old largely impressed playing for the Dutch giants last season, catching the eye of clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal in the process.

But, with his current contract at Phillips Stadium due to expire in less than a year, PSV officials are desperate to tie him down to a new long-term deal.

Bakkali was relegated to the youth squad after rejecting a new contract offer this summer and the latest reports suggest he will not be signing a new deal with his current employers.

This will serve as a major boost to all interested sides as they will be able to sign the youngster on a cut-price deal in the January window.

While scoring 3 goals in 16 league appearances for PSV Eindhoven, Bakkali was handed his national team debut in the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Wales last October.
