(GSM) – The Belgian Cup tournament continues without some of its favorites as both Anderlecht and Club Brugge were eliminated in Wednesday’s round of sixteen clashes.

Anderlecht visited Westerlo, where the home side scored the only goal of the match through Paulo Henrique in the 46th minute, 1-0.

Brugge were no more successful at Germinal Beerschot even though they had the quarter finals in sight until the final minutes after a first-half goal from Dorge Kouemaha.

Germinal were awarded a penalty in the 90th minute and Junior Negrao made no mistake from the spot. Not much later, Adnan Custovic completed the stunning turn-around.

The two surprises follow Tuesday’s elimination of Genk by Standard Liege, who defeated the current league leaders 2-1.
