(GSM) – Anderlecht failed to catch up with Belgian league leaders Genk as the Brussels outfit were held to a 2-2 draw in Sunday’s top clash with Club Brugge.

Brugge had a great start at the Constant Vanden Stock stadium, with Wilfried Dalmat scoring the opener after six minutes and Karel Geraerts adding a second in the 22nd minute.

But Hungarian Roland Juhasz pulled one back in the 43rd minute and Romelo Lukaku made it 2-2 in the last minute of the first half. No more goals were scored after the break.

As such, Anderlecht remain at two points from leaders Genk and will now have to share their second spot with Gent.

To jump to shared second place, Gent defeated Cercle Brugge 0-1 thanks to a 72nd-minute penalty goal from Tim Smolders.
