Cercle Brugge and KV Mechelen are through to the semi finals of the Belgian Cup, eliminating Roeselaere and Kortrijk respectively.

Cercle needed to overcome last month’s 2-1 defeat by Roeselaere and did so by earning a 1-0 win in the return leg. Anthony Portier’s goal in the 22nd minute was enough to advance on away goals.

Mechelen beat Kortrijk 1-0 in the first leg, and held their opponents to a scoreless draw on Tuesday to defend their lead and secure a spot in the semi finals.

Lierse SK and KRC Genk had already qualified for the semi final stage.
