(GSM) – Portsmouth winger Nadir Belhadj has revealed that he is close to a move to Lazio.
Belhadj, 28, who is up for sale after Pompey’s debts soared to about £78 million pounds. According to the Il Corriere dello Sport, the Pompey are demanding a €4 million for the full-back, but the Aquile have offered just €3m. But negotiations have stalled over his transfer fee.
“I have spoken clearly to my club and I told them that I would like to leave,” the Algeria international said.
“Actually, there is a deal in progress between Lazio and Portsmouth. Things are going well. I know that the two clubs have met and are now tying things up.
“I think that my arrival in Roma, which by now looks probable, will happen soon.
“I don’t know if there will be a meeting between Lazio and my agent tomorrow, but I can say that Lotito is in constant contact both with him and the English.
“I am really happy with Lazio’s desire to sign me. Actually I think that the deal between Lazio and Portsmouth has wide margins to conclude positively: I say 80-90 per cent,” he concluded.
