Belhadj delighted with Barcelona link

(GSM) – Portsmouth’s Algerian full-back Nadir Belhadj is delighted after he has been linked with Barcelona. The news emerged after Barca star Xavi praised the Algerian defender.

Belhadj is set to leave cash-strapped Pompey in the summer according to speculation. And following a series of excellent performances at Fratton Park, the Algeria international could be set to sign for a big club when the transfer window reopens in July.

Xavi stated recently that he was very impressed with Belhadj and his compatriot Madjid Bougherra at the African Cup of Nations.

Belhadj was flattered by Xavi’s praise and admits that he would love to play at the Nou Camp.

“Who would not want to play for them?” he said in the Daily Express.

“It is a real honour for a world-class player such as Xavi to say good things about me.”
