The Telegraph reports that West Ham forward Craig Bellamy could possibly make a switch to Manchester City this week.
Huge salaries were awarded to ageing or injury-prone players such as Freddie Ljungberg, Bellamy and Kieron Dyer who, along with Scott Parker and Lucas Neill earn annual salaries in excess of £3 million.
With the Upton Park board determined to reduce the club’s wage bill, and having already paid off Freddie Ljungberg’s contract this summer, it now appears they are open to offers for the Welsh international.
City manager Mark Hughes is searching for another forward after long-term target Roque Santa Cruz decided to commit his long-term future to Rovers signing a four-year contract.
Hughes has worked with Bellamy before while he was in charge of the Welsh national team, and is seeking a strike partner for Brazilian Jo, who moved to Eastlands this summer.
