Hector Bellerin is desperate to leave Arsenal permanently and join Real Betis this summer, according to the Mirror. So much so, that he’s apparently willing to give up on his remaining salary with the Gunners, amounting to around £5.7 million.
Apart from a brief loan spell with Watford early on, Bellerin had spent his entire senior career at the Emirates before going to Betis on a temporary basis a year ago. Since then, he’s made a total of 32 appearances for the Spanish side in all competitions, putting down five assists to his name and helping the team led by Manuel Pellegrini secure a fifth-place finish on top of the Copa del Rey triumph.
The only problem is, the loan is about to expire and there’s a year left on his Arsenal contract. The 27-year-old is said to have offered Arsenal to waive his remaining salary in return for contract termination, which would obviously allow him to sign for Betis as a free agent.
But as it stands at the moment, Arsenal would prefer to receive an actual transfer fee for Bellerin’s services, and they’ve placed a price-tag of £8.5m on the speedy right-back.
