According to a recent report from Sport Bild, Birmingham City youngster Jude Bellingham is on the verge of joining Borussia Dortmund and becoming the German giant’s record transfer signing.
The belief is that they have beaten off competition from around the Premier League with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United all reportedly being interested – with Bellingham being hailed as the next Steven Gerrard, however hard that may be to believe.
A fee of around £30.5 million is said to have been agreed with the plan being for the deal to be completed once the summer transfer window opens.
Some Birmingham fans are more than happy to receive that kind of fee for the teenage sensation, especially when you hear that many believe his younger brother is an improved version of Jude.
For now, though, Blues fans will hope that Bellingham can help guide them towards Championship survival after another tricky campaign in the second tier.
