Al Jazira are readying bids for Hatem Ben Arfa and Marko Basa, French daily newspaper L’Equipe understands.
The club coached by former Marseille boss Eric Gerets already boast a star-studded line-up, but they are planning for more high-profile moves in an attempt to end Al Ain’s domestic domination.
According to L’Equipe, the UAE side representatives have met with Hatem Ben Arfa’s agents as they hope to recruit the former Newcastle winger on a free transfer.
At the same time, they are considering a bid for Lille centre-back Marko Basa, who has a deal until June 2019 with Lille.
The two players who made a name for themselves in French Ligue 1 are expected to receive lucrative proposals from UAE, with Eric Gerets tipped to help lure them to Al Jazira.
Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic joined the club in the summer and has since bagged 20 goals in 17 matches, while former River Plate hotshot Manuel Lancini and former Anzhi star Jucilei also play for Al Jazira.
