(GSM) – Hatem Ben Arfa could be set for an exit from Olympique Marseille as Newcastle United, Galatasaray and Werder Bremen chase the winger.

The Frenchman was part of the side that won the French title last season following his transfer to the Stade Velodrome from Olympique Lyon in 2008.

However, French newspaper L’Equipe have stated that Newcastle’s representatives will meet with Marseille to discuss a transfer, with a loan deal in view.

And Ben Arfa’s agent, Michel Ouazine, stated that even if he is not a first-team regular, the player will only join a club that will take his career further.

“Hatem has reached a turning point in his career,” Ouazine told L’Equipe.

“His choice will only be a sporting one.

“Hatem could also remain at l’OM. He can’t leave at random.”
