Ben Arfa to choose between Werder and Newcastle

Hatem Ben Arfa seems to have persuaded Marseille chiefs to let him leave the club and his next destination is expected to be revealed later today.

Werder Bremen are thought to be favorites for the player’s signature, but the Germans face a stiff competition from Newcastle United.

The Bundesliga side sent a confirmation fax yesterday evening to finalize the transfer but it failed to reach the end destination due to a mishap and they will try to conclude the deal as soon as possible.

Nevertheless, Newcastle United have also had their offer for the tricky winger accepted by Marseille, while Ben Arfa himself has already expressed desire to join the St James Park outfit.

Therefore, the two interested clubs face quite a battle for the French international, with the winner set to be announced later today.
