Benatia set for big club move
The agent of AS Roma defender Mehdi Benatia has all but suggested that his client could leave Stadio Olimpico at the end of the season.
The Moroccan has been in scintillating form since joining the club from Udinese, catching the eye of Europe’s top clubs in the process.
And his official representative has confirmed that AS Roma could be ready to entertain offers at the end of the season.
“The future of Benatia? Soon we will have a meeting with Roma,” agent Moussa Sissoko confessed to L’Equipe.
“The leaders are aware that big clubs are interested. Following the meeting with Roma, we will see what the decision will be on Mehdi.”
Mehdi Benatia, 26, has made a total of 30 Serie A appearances since arriving from Udinese in the summer and went on to score 5 goals.
Muntari linked with Premiership return
Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari is being linked with a summer switch to English Premier League.
The Ghana international has seen little playing time since the arrival of Clarence Seedorf and he is widely tipped to leave the Rossoneri in search of first team football.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, a return to English Premier League could be on the cards, with Hull City and West Ham reportedly keen.
Having already coached Muntari at Sunderland, Hull City boss Steve Bruce is eager to add him to the ranks at KC Stadium.
Meanwhile, West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is also reported to be in the race for the midfielder’s signature.
AC Milan face Genoa on the road this evening looking to record third straight victory, with the Rossoneri priced at 1/1 to claim maximum points.
Benfica close on Vagner
Portuguese giants Benfica are stepping up their efforts to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Vagner da Silva from Estoril, reports O Jogo.
The Eagles plan to cash in on veteran shot-stopper Artur Moraes at the end of the season and sign a new player to rival Jan Oblak for a starting berth.
According to O Jogo, Estoril star Vagner da Silva is the first name on their hit list following some impressive displays this season.
Benfica have already expressed interest in the 27-year-old and they are expected to submit an official proposal in the coming weeks.
Vagner da Silva has made a name for himself at Estoril having joined the club on permanent basis from Desportivo Brasil in 2011 following a one-year loan at Estadio Antonio Coimbra da Mota.
He has since established himself as one of league’s top goalkeepers and looks set for a big club move at the end of the season.
