Nicklas Bendtner last night claimed that he is Arsenal’s top striker and should be starting every game according to the Daily Mirror.
The Danish striker is already said to be unpopular among sections of the Arsenal support and his recent claims will only make things worse for the youngster.
The Daily Mirror reports the striker as saying: “I’m very sorry to see Adebayor injured as we need him fit and to be playing in the league, But it does not really matter to me who is fit and available.
“I should start every game, I should be playing every minute of every match and always be in the team.”
The 21-year-old is likely to get a run in the first team after Emmanuel Adebayor was recently ruled out through injury, although Eduardo is on his way back from his horrible injury sustained last season and the Danish international is not even worried by the arrival of Andrey Arshavin at the club.
“I’ve never seen Arshavin. I did not watch Euro 2008,” said Bendtner. “I’ve no idea what sort of player he is.”
The striker is set to recieve little sympathy from Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger after the Frenchmen told press: “Bendtner has had plenty of opportunities this year; if you look at the number of games he has started you will be surprised.”
“He had lots of opportunities and it is not completely decided who will play yet because we have many possibilities we can try.”
