(GSM) – Nicklas Bendtner went from zero to hero within a couple of days. The Arsenal striker fired his side past Porto on Tuesday night after an absolute off day against Burnley.
Bendtner answered his critics after his showing against Burnley in stunning style with a devastating hat-trick in the 5-0 victory over Porto.
With his outstanding display he made amends for his disapponting performance of last weekend.
“Every time I play a game I put it behind me as soon as it’s finished,” Bendtner told Sky Sports 2.
“Sometimes it’s one of those days and today I put it right.
“I’m happy with my hat-trick but we move on.
“It was good to score early but I don’t know if that affected my game.”
Bendtner has now set his sights on winning the Champions League and believes the win over Porto has given the Gunners the confidence to go all the way in Europe’s premier club competition.
“It will give us a lot of confidence,” added Bendtner. “We want to win the Champions League. It’s something we haven’t done.”
