With the chance to widen their buffer at the top of the Primeira Liga to 13 points, Benfica will welcome Belenenses to the Estádio da Luz on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, putting in what was another dominant display and picking up a 2-0 win away at Paços de Ferreira last time out, the Portuguese giants now find themselves holding a 10-point buffer at the top of the table. Undoubtedly still boosted by their eye-catching 2-0 win over bitter rivals Sporting Lisbon last week, Head Coach Bruno Lage finds his side in the midst of a 15-match unbeaten run that stems back to the 5th of November. Also landing back-to-back clean sheets, there is no doubt that fans around the Estádio da Luz will be most impressed by their side’s performances at the back. Remarkably, Benfica have conceded just six top-flight goals in their 18 matchups this season.

As for the visitors, while Belenenses may have managed to snatch a 2-1 win over fellow strugglers Portimonense last weekend, it does not cover what has been a worrying run of form for Nuno Oliveira’s men. Losing four of their last five Primeira Liga appearances, including a 7-1 hammering against Braga earlier in the month, the Blues also have a growing reputation for their sluggish displays on the road. Fans around the Estádio Nacional have seen their side hit with back-to-back defeats on their travels and Belenenses have registered just a pair of strikes on the road since the start of November. Hit with a 2-0 defeat when they faced off against Benfica earlier in the season, we’re backing a similar outcome on Friday.

Bet: Benfica 8/13 to beat Belenenses to nil in Friday’s Primeira Liga matchup @ Bet 365
