Benfica agree deal for AC Milan midfielder

Portuguese giants Benfica have agreed to sign AC Milan midfielder Pele, according to O Jogo.

The 23-year-old will be joining the Eagles when his contract expires at the end of the season after the Primeira Liga side reached an agreement with his official representative Ulisses Santos.

Pele came through the youth ranks at Belenenses and went on to make 31 league appearances before signing for Genoa in January 2011.

The midfielder signed for AC Milan in a swap deal the following summer, but never played a single match for his current employers.

Pele enjoyed somewhat disappointing loan spells with Arsenal Kiev and Olhanense, but he managed to kick-start his career since returning to Belenenses in the summer.

The highly rated footballer made 30 competitive appearances since joining on loan, scoring 5 goals in the process, and he has clearly done enough to impress Benfica scouts and earn a move to Estadio da Luz.
