Portuguese media outlet A Bola has learned that Benfica have agreed to sign Venezuelan forward John Eduard Murillo Romana from Zamora FC.

The 19-year-old is set to sign a five-year deal with the Eagles after the two clubs agreed on a transfer fee.

Murillo has shown a great deal of potential in Venezuela’s top flight, scoring 19 goals in 59 league appearances.

He was handed an international debut in February this year and has since been named in Venezuela’s provisional squad for the 2015 Copa America finals.

Murillo clearly did enough to earn a lucrative move to Benfica, and it remains to be seen whether he will be added to the senior squad straight away or maybe spend some time in the reserves.

The Eagles have all but secured another league trophy as they sit three points clear at the top and they have been made 1/3 favourites to defeat Vitoria Guimaraes on Saturday.
