Benfica have submitted an official proposal for AC Milan midfielder Bryan Cristante, La Gazzetta dello Sport has learned.
The Eagles had been keeping close tabs on the talented footballer for a while before deciding to step up their interest.
And even if their initial bid of €4 million was rejected by the Rossoneri, Benfica are set to return with an increased offer.
With AC Milan’s financial problems well documented, the Eagles are confident they can lure the youngster to Estadio da Luz in the summer transfer window.
Bryan Cristante, 19, is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects to have come out of youth ranks at San Siro, and he has scored 1 goal in 3 Serie A appearances so far.
Meanwhile, the Rossoneri are set to complete the deals for free agents Jeremy Menez and Alex, whereas they are in negotiations to sign Adil Rami and Adel Taarabt on permanent transfers.
