Portuguese daily newspaper O Jogo claims that Benfica have launched a fresh assault on Panathinaikos goalkeeper Odisseas Vlachodimos.
The 23-year-old was close to joining the Eagles last summer, but the move eventually fell through as Ola John couldn’t find an agreement with the Greek club.
Benfica have now rekindled the interest in the German shot-stopper and they hope to bring Vlachodimos to Estadio da Luz in January.
According to O Jogo, the talks are ongoing, with the Eagles offering around €2 million for the talented goalkeeper.
Born in Germany to Greek parents, Vlachodimos spent his early career at Stuttgart, before moving to Panathinaikos in January 2016.
He has since fared pretty well in 30 league outings and now looks set for the next step in his career.
