Portuguese media outlet Record has learned that Benfica are keeping close tabs on Belenenses winger Dalcio Gomes.

The Eagles had the youngster watched in weekend’s match against Vitoria Setubal, which is enough to suggest the 18-year-old is on club’s list of potential targets.

Benfica are expected to stay without several high profile footballers in the summer and they could step up their interest in the Belenenses starlet at the end of the season.

Dalcio Gomes came through the youth ranks at Belenenses and was handed his first team debut less than two months ago.

The winger has since made seven league appearances and started two Taca da Liga matches, scoring his first goal in a 3-2 victory over Sporting Lisbon.

His suitors Benfica hold a one-point lead at the Primeira Liga summit, albeit with a game in hand, and they can be backed at 4/9 to lift the league title for the second year running.
