Portuguese media oulet A Bola understands that Benfica are hot on the trail of Pacos de Ferreira winger Diogo Jose Teixeira da Silva.

The Eagles have already secured the signatures of Andre Carrillo and Franco Cervi, but they want the Portuguese to further improve the competition for places at Estadio da Luz.

According to the latest reports, Benfica have agreed to pay €1.5 million for 50% of the player’s economic rights, but they still need to cut a deal with the winger’s representatives.

The 19-year-old is also followed by top clubs from abroad, and it is believed he is looking to secure the best possible contract for himself.

Diogo Jota has been one of league’s star performers this season despite previously making just 10 top flight appearances for the club.

The highly rated footballer featured in 21 Primeira Liga games this term, scoring 7 goals and producing 8 assists in the process.
