(GSM) – After losing their first two games of the season, Benfica finally recovered with a 3-0 win over Vitoria Setubal in the Portuguese league.
Vitoria, who earned four points from their first two matches, hoped to take advantage of Benfica’s poor form but things did not go as planned for the visiting side.
Not even four minutes had passed at Lisbon’s Estadio da Luz when Paraguayan striker Oscar Cardozo put the home side in the lead.
Goalkeeper Julio Cesar was sent off in the 21st minute but it would not affect Benfica’s performance as Luisao found the target for 2-0 just before the break.
Argentinian Pablo Aimar netted the third and final goal four minutes before the hour, 3-0.
